The Arrochar and Tarbet Community Development Trust (A&TCDT) is a community development organisation and registered charity. We work with local people to improve the quality of life in Arrochar, Tarbet, Succoth and the surrounding area, including nearby communities such as Ardlui and Ardgarten.
Our background
In 2003, residents in Arrochar, Tarbet and Succoth—along with other communities in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park—came together to create our first Community Action Plan. The Trust has been supporting community priorities ever since.
Our Board
The Trust is led by a Board of Directors with a broad range of skills and experience. Directors help set direction, support projects, and make sure the Trust is run responsibly and in the community’s interests.
Our aims and objectives
A&TCDT’s charitable aims include:
- Relieving poverty
- Relieving the needs of those disadvantaged by rural isolation
- Providing recreational facilities
- Advancing educational opportunities, particularly for unemployed people
- Promoting training and skills to help residents gain employment
- Promoting and facilitating charitable schemes that benefit the community
- Preserving, restoring and improving the local environment and public spaces
- Promoting the preservation of structures of historic or architectural note
Membership info
Residents are members by default
If you live in our area, you are automatically a member of the Trust. That means you’re welcome to:
- Attend meetings
- Vote at general meetings
- Share feedback, ideas and suggestions
- Get involved in projects and events
- Stand for election as a Director (where eligible)
We want to hear from as many local voices as possible. Your input helps guide what the Trust focuses on. Please see the Contact page for details on how to provide your feedback. The more active members mean more influence with outside agencies and a better chance of receiving external funding for our plans and objectives!
Governance and Transparency
As a community-led charity, we are committed to operating openly and responsibly. Our governing documents, annual accounts and other statutory filings are available to the public through Companies House, allowing anyone to learn more about how the Trust is managed and governed.
